PRODUCTIVE OVER BUSY

WE'RE TOO BUSY TO REST?

BEING IN THE LORD'S REST IS DOING OUR BEST

NEW WINDOWS

It takes the revelation power of the Holy Spirit to demolish and remove the glass windows of our prejudices, bias, racism and stereotypes. These are the windows that filter our veiw of other people. It's not enough that the glass of these windows be broken, every piece of glass must be removed and then replaced. Not even the tiniest shard of glass can be allowed to remain; for the tiniest piece has the potential to poison the minds of many generations. Once removed, the Holy Spirit can then replace the old window with the "New Window" the mind of Christ. We will then be able to view others through the heart of God.

GROWING PAINS

THEREFORE, SINCE we are justified (acquitted, declared righteous, and given a right standing with God) through faith, let us [grasp the fact that we] have [the peace of reconciliation to hold and to enjoy] peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). Through Him also we have [our] access (entrance, introduction) by faith into this grace (state of God's favor) in which we [firmly and safely] stand. And let us rejoice and exult in our hope of experiencing and enjoying the glory of God. Moreover [let us also be full of joy now!] let us exult and triumph in our troubles and rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that pressure and affliction and hardship produce patient and unswerving endurance. And endurance (fortitude) develops maturity of character (approved faith and tried integrity). And character [of this sort] produces [the habit of] joyful and confident hope of eternal salvation. Such hope never disappoints or deludes or shames us, for God's love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit Who has been given to us. Romans 5:1-5

THE POWER OF KIND WORDS

A kind word can heal many wounds.

Pleasant words are as a honeycomb, sweet to the mind and healing to the body.

                         Proverbs 16:24 AMP

HEALTH MANAGEMENT

The soul (emotions/thinking) is the gateway to 10000 illnesses.(modified Japanese proverb)

Philippians 4:6-9. NLT

Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.

EVIDENCE OF CHANGE

HYPE IS NO SUBSTITUTE FOR FAITH

Emotional hype is not a substitute for faith.

Hype has never empowered me to overcome anything.

It only gives me false sense of security that falls apart under pressure.

Pumping myself up emotionally to deal with dangerous or difficult situations, is simply being fake, phony, and can sometimes be hazardous. It doesn't  fool anybody but me!

Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see. Hebrews 11:1

CRAZY CAN'T FIX WRONG

When a couple are engaged in a toxic relationship, and they think by getting married, and birthing children into their poison will somehow make things better, is not only "irresponsible" it is "INSANE"!

For jealousy and selfishness are not God's kind of wisdom. Such things are earthly, unspiritual, and demonic. For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind.
James 3:16

WHAT ABOUT FEAR?

From what I can see, there are two types of fear:

Fear #1
A "feeling" that is relatively normal response when we percieve there to be a legitimate threat to our physical or mental safety.

Fear #2
The "feeling" that is often ridiculously irrational. It is considered irrational because it is extremely probable that what we percieve as being harmful, is unlikely to ever occur.

Debilitating responses to fear:
1. Avoiding people and situations.
2. Immobilization. Do nothing, go no where, say nothing.
3. Irritable and combative.
4. Anxious & Jittery.
5. Panic

Both types of fear can be can prevent us from being happy, free, fulfilled and productive for the Lord.

I think it's important to understand that often our fear is triggered by being challenged to be courageous!

It's likely an indication that our comfort zone is worn out. It's time for the Lord to move us from where we are!

There are times when we don't need sympathy or empathy, but a good, firm, loving "PUSH" off home base.

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control].

WHEN I DARE TO BELIEVE

AWARENESS OF WHAT'S SIGNIFICANT

As I become more "occupied" by the Holy Spirit, I find that I'm becoming more aware of what is significant, and less concerned with what is not.

MY THOUGHTS ON GRIEF

disenfranchised bereavement

I don't claim to know how much time a person should spend in grief after the loss of a love one. However, I will say this, whenever grief has been allowed to block one's recovery, and their ability to move on with the remainder of their lives, that grief has now become cancerous!

It must be treated in an aggressive manner.

God has declared that it must end - in the name of Jesus! And that it must end in joy!

Psalms 147:3 NLT
He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds.

SELF-DENIAL: GOD'S PLAN FOR CHANGE

For as you know him better, he will give you, through his great power, everything you need for living a truly good life: he even shares his own glory and his own goodness with us!And by that same mighty power he has given us all the other rich and wonderful blessings he promised; for instance, the promise to save us from the lust and rottenness all around us, and to give us his own character. But to obtain these gifts, you need more than faith; you must also work hard to be good, and even that is not enough. For then you must learn to know God better and discover what he wants you to do.Next, learn to put aside your own desires so that you will become patient and godly, gladly letting God have his way with you. This will make possible the next step, which is for you to enjoy other people and to like them, and finally you will grow to love them deeply. The more you go on in this way, the more you will grow strong spiritually and become fruitful and useful to our Lord Jesus Christ. But anyone who fails to go after these additions to faith is blind indeed, or at least very shortsighted and has forgotten that God delivered him from the old life of sin so that now he can live a strong, good life for the Lord. So, dear brothers, work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen, and then you will never stumble or fall away. And God will open wide the gates of heaven for you to enter into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

DISCIPLINE VS. MOTIVATION

Motivation
It's like the current of a river carrying me along its course. I just have to navigate around the obstacles along the way, while heading to my destination. The "push" that drives me to accomplish my goals.

Self-Discipline
It's like being in a river while having the resolve to swim against the current while trying to navigate to my destination. The "resolve" to work against the "push" to get it done!
